Delaware Emergency Management Agency will test six emergency alert sirens between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15. The sirens are a part of the Salem/Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Station's alert and notification system.
There are 37 sirens within the 10-mile Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ). This routine test of only six sirens is to validate recent siren maintenance.
Siren 209 is located in Middletown on the west side of SR9, 0.4 miles south of the SR 9/Thomas Landing Road intersection.
Siren 210 is located in Middletown at the northwest corner of the Harris Road/Noxontown Road intersection (1.4 miles south of the Harris Road/US 13 intersection).
Siren 217 is located in Delaware City on the south side of Pole Bridge Road, 0.4 miles west of the Pole Bridge Road/Port Penn Road intersection.
