DELAWARE TESTS EMGERGENCY SIRENS

A test of the Salem-Hope Creek Generating Stations Alert and Notification System will be conducted on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, between 6 - 8 p.m. The test is conducted by the Delaware Emergency Management Agency and the Delaware State Police. 

The Quarterly Siren Test involves a three- to five-minute sounding of the 37 sirens followed by a test message of the Emergency Alert System (EAS).  The sirens are located within a 10-mile radius of the generating stations, which are located in New Jersey.

Should an actual emergency occur at Salem or Hope Creek Generating Stations, sirens would alert the public to tune to a local EAS station for important emergency instructions.
