Emergency Management Institute Training

The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) serves as the national focal point for the development and delivery of emergency management training to enhance the capabilities of federal, state, local, and tribal government officials, volunteer organizations, and the public and private sectors to minimize the impact of disasters on the American public.

EMI curricula are structured to meet the needs of this diverse audience with an emphasis on how the various elements work together in emergencies to save lives and protect property. More information on the EMI courses and schedules here.

The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) offers self-paced Independent Study on-line courses designed for people who have emergency management responsibilities and the general public. Courses at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) are available for state, local, and tribal responders from any of the following disciplines: Emergency Management Agency (EMA), Emergenc Medical Services (EMS), fire service, governmental administrative, hazardous materials personnel, healthcare (non-EMS), law enforcement, public health, public safety communication, public works, and other skilled support personnel that provide immediate support services during prevention, response, and recovery operations.
