Emergency Management Training

The Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) sponsors all-hazards training courses and exercises that are designed to cover Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Recovery. These courses are open to those who are involved in response and those who are involved with volunteer organizations. A mix of courses, seminars, workshops and conferences can be tailored and offered at DEMA or your location. Some of the courses that DEMA offers are NIMS/ICS Combined, ICS-200,300,400, Position Specific, Hurricane Readiness, Debris Management, Weapons of Mass Destruction Awareness and Management of Spontaneous Volunteers. The DEMA Calendar of Training Activities provides a course description and enrollment form for the current offerings.

The DEMA training and exercise program provides coordination and support of course delivery to various governmental agencies involved in emergency functions related to natural hazards, technological hazards and homeland security. Training is also available to approved personnel through the Emergency Management Institute, US Fire Academy and the Office of National Training and Exercise Division. In addition, on-line independent study courses are available to the public through the Emergency Management Institute.

DEMA Training Calendar

The Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) is the lead state agency for coordination of comprehensive emergency preparedness, training, response, recovery and mitigation services in order to save lives, protect Delaware's economic base and reduce the impact of emergencies. DEMA is a division within the Department of Safety and Homeland Security (DSHS) and is authorized by Delaware Code, Title 20,Chapter 31ยง3101-3130.
