Emergency Operations Planning
Emergency operations planning is essential for schools to ensure a swift, coordinated, and effective response to any crisis, from natural disasters to security threats. A well-developed Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) not only helps protect students, staff, and visitors but also minimizes disruptions to learning and fosters a sense of preparedness within the school community.
Schools must regularly update and practice their plans to address evolving threats and ensure that all stakeholders—administrators, teachers, first responders, and families—understand their roles in an emergency.
The Delaware School Safety Center is dedicated to supporting schools in these efforts by providing expert guidance, training, software, and resources tailored to the unique needs of each district.
